An Alternative Method of Communication Between Client and Designer at the “Fuzzy Front End” of the Design Process

Deborah Cumming is a graphic designer, having worked mainly in the small business client sector over a number of years and latterly lecturing in graphic design across all programmes within the School of Communication Arts at Napier University, Edinburgh. Design Strategy was the focus of her M. Des. study at Glasgow School of Art, completed in 2000. Deborah is currently undertaking a Ph.D. at Gray’s School of Art, The Robert Gordon University. The Ph.D. is titled The role of graphic design in small business enterprises, due for completed submission December 2006. Her design interests include design in industry, design in management and design in education.
